Tokkei Winspector is a Japanese tokusatsu TV series, part of the Metal Hero Series and the first piece of the Rescue Hero trilogy. The series follows the adventures and missions of a special “Rescue Police” team known as Special Police Winspector, as they stop crimes and respond to dangerous events where regular police force is not sufficient. The team is made up of one human (a hero clad in armor) and two robotic assistants. VR Troopers (Virtual Reality Troopers) was a syndicated live action show produced by Saban (creators of the similar Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series) from 1994 to 1996. The show tried to profit from the fascination with virtual reality in the early 1990s as well as the success of Power Rangers.The show featured early CGI and video effects mixed with Japanese stock footage from three different Metal Hero Series: Superhuman Machine Metalder, Dimensional Warrior Spielban, and Space Sheriff Shaider. This kind of adaptation technique, turning multiple shows into one show, was originally used in anime with shows like Robotech and Voltron. Ultraman Max was an Ultraman TV series which started airing on 7 July 2005, and produced by Tsuburaya Productions and Chubu-Nippon Broadcasting Co., Ltd.. The show tried to return to the true formula of new monsters every week and being a fast paced show like previous series with the exception of Ultraman Nexus. The show is full of homages to past series by having three of the original cast members from the first Ultraman series (and one original cast member from Ultraseven) being featured in an episode, updated versions of classic monsters like Red King, Eleking and Pigmon among others. One unusual episode (#29) revolves around the filming of the 1964 program Ultra Q which was the predecessor to the first Ultraman show in 1966

Mebius is a rookie Ultra Warrior and has a lot to live up to. He is chosen as the new protector of the earth. This series is set in the same universe as the original timeline; when Mebius first appears to fight a monster, it is mentioned that this is the first time an Ultraman has appeared on earth in 25 years. Under the guise of Mirai Hibino, Mebius joins CREW GUYS, the monster attack force of this series. At the start of the first episode, all of the original team members of GUYS, save Ryu, are killed off in their first monster battle. Mirai gathers a group of people he meets in an evacuation to join the new GUYS because he feels they have the right heart to be on GUYS.

In the first decade of the 21st Century on Earth, the rising of the population results in low quality of life, as well the increasing number of ESP incidents and alien invasions. In the Nebula M-78, the information service of the Space Defence Force watches these phenomena and throughout the Space Security Service, a ramification of the group, send a mission to Earth, commanded by Ultra Seven 21 (21 Urutoraseben Tsū Wan?). The general of the troop, even knowing the uncommon situation in the area, finds inadequate to take off the veteran Seven 21 of his rank and asks for support to the Yuhshi Shirei Bu (Warrior Command Group) of the Ultra War Unit. The organization selects the young warrior of the elite troop, Ultraman Neos, with Seven 21 giving him support when necessary. Zoffy made a cameo in episode 2, but Neos is not part of the original Ultra universe (in episode 1, HEART does not recognize Neos or the Ultraman concept, and the captain orders them to attack “the giant”), thus establishing that Neos is actually part of a alternative universe.

In the year 2009,Earth is in a secret war against the mysterious Space Beasts, unknown organisms which feed on human beings. Luckily, he is saved by a mysterious silver giant known as Ultraman Nexus. As Komon steps deeper into the true reality unknown to other people, mysteries surrounding the Ultraman and his mysterious foes is revealed. Humanity’s final fate will be determined by the bond of Light, Nexus.

The members of WINR (pronounced “Winner”) respond when members of the alien Baltan race attack Earth, but the Baltans are only fended off when a gigantic alien, Ultraman Powered, joins with WINR member Kenichi Kai and gives him the power to metamorphose into Ultraman in times of danger. At the end of the first episode Ultraman declares that the Baltans were not completely defeated and that he will remain on Earth to continue the fight.

Kotaro Higashi wanted to be a championship boxer. However, fate had other plans as he fell thousands of feet from the Earth after Astromons, a new creature in the third age of monsters, shook him off. The Five Ultra Brothers brought Kotaro’s body to their home world of Nebula M-78 many years into the past. It was there that Mother of Ultra merged Kotaro with Ultraman Taro, who would now form the Six Ultra Brothers. Before merging with Kotaro, Taro spent many years to hone his skills similar to the original five Ultra Brothers by mimicking their attacks through battles from both the past and future. After the merge was complete, Kotaro was taken back to present day Earth being the human host of Taro and as Astromons was ravaging a city Kotaro turned into Taro. Not long after Astromons’s defeat Kotaro joined ZAT and fought in a new era of kaiju. Many foes were found that would threaten the Earth, but Taro and ZAT defeated them time and again with occasional help from the other five Ultra Brothers from the weaklings to monsters only Taro could defeat. After Samekujira attacked and Valkie fled Kotaro wanted to show the other Ultras he wanted to keep his humanity by no longer wanting to be Taro’s host. Thus, he is one of the few Ultra human hosts to sever his relation with an Ultra Warrior.

Set in the years 2007-2010 (2049 in the U.S. dub) , giant monsters and conquering aliens start to appear, as was foretold by an apocalyptic prophecy about an uncontrollable chaos over the Earth. Facing the threat, the TPC (Terrestrial Peaceable Consortium) is created, such as its branch, GUTS (Global Unlimited Task Squad). Through a holographic message in a capsule found by researchers, the GUTS gets knowledge about a golden pyramid built by an ancient civilization. At the site, three statues of a race of giants who defended early human civilization on Earth about 30,000,000 years ago from Super-Ancient Monsters and other forces of darkness are found, but two of them are destroyed by the monsters Golza and Melba. The third one gains life from the spiritual energy of officer Daigo, descendant of the ancient race. Daigo and the remaining statue merge into a single being, made of light. Shortly after defeating the two monsters, Daigo is revealed by the hologram of the prophecy that 30 million years in the past, a great evil that not even the giants could stop, destroyed the ancient civilization. The same evil reappears in the finale of the series, the Ruler of Darkness Ghatanothoa, and his servants, Gijera and Zoigar. Ghatanothoa defeats Ultraman Tiga with ease, withstanding the Delcalium Light Stream and a modified version of the Zepellion Ray, both Tiga’s finishes, and turns him back into a statue, but the light of humanity is able to turn him into Glitter Tiga, giving him the power to defeat Ghatanothoa and save the Earth.

He’s not quite adept at being a superhero, but at least he tries his best.His human form is Katsuto Asahi who also dislikes dirt like Zearth.
